5 tips to Keeping your Vehicle's Tires and Brakes in Top Shape!!

Cleaning your tires and wheels is one way to make a drastic improvement in the appearance of your vehicle. Clean tires not only look great but it can also help improve the performance of your vehicle.  Clean tires will help provide better traction and braking AND prevent corrosive elements from building up and damaging your brake pads.  

 Here are a few tips on keeping your tires completely clean!!
  1. The first step is to wash your wheels and tires - do not use the same bucket of cleaning solution as you use for the remainder of your vehicle - be sure to use a separate bucket to ensure that the grease from your tires is not transferred to the rest of your vehicle.
  2. Be sure to us a cleaner that is specifically designed for tires and wheels.  This will make the process much simpler for you as some cleaners simply cannot remove the grease and grime that accumulates o the tires.  Apply the tire cleaner to your tires and wheels according to the instructions.
  3. Scrub your tires. Purchase a feather bristled brush that is for use on your tires only.  Scrub the tire thoroughly and then rinse before moving on to the next tire.  Pay special attention to the area around the brake pads.   Rinse and repeat if necessary. 
  4. Use a terry cloth towel to dry thoroughly. Purchase a detailing terry cloth towel that is specifically for your tires only.   Dry the entire tire and wheel to prevent rust.
  5. Wax your tires.  Apply wax to your tires with the applicator that comes with the was. Waxing the tires will help your tire resist dust and element sand protect them from sun light.
