The 2013 Ambassador Family for March of Dimes Signature Chef Lake of the Ozarks

The March of Dimes Signature Chef event is Wednesday, November 6, 2013.  The 2012 Signature Chefs event raised more than $65,000 and attracted more than 400 enthusiastic guests and the 2013 event looks like it may be even better!!  This is the 15th year for the Signature Chefs Gourmet Dinner Auction & the 75th year for March of Dimes!   One of the favorite moments of the evening is when the Ambassador Family is recognized and has the opportunity to share their story.  This year the Ambassador Family is Robert, Kristine & Kensey Sills.  The Sills never anticipated a  pre-term labor, however, when Kristine felt contractions eight weeks early, they left for the hospital. Just before they were transported to Springfield by ambulance, the doctor made the decision to give Kristine steroid shots to help develop the baby’s lungs – a treatment developed by March of Dimes research.  At 11:22 a.m. on Nov. 23, 4lbs, 6oz, Kensey was born.  Although they did not make it to Springfield
