Is Your Car Ready For Fall?

We already know this, but the multicolored leaves swirling in front of us on the Lake of the Ozarks roads make it impossible to ignore: fall is officially upon us! The changing leaves serve as reminders of all the other changes that will occur over the next couple of months. The team at Hulett Chevrolet Buick GMC in Camdenton is here to help you prepare your vehicle for fall with these simple reminders.

1. Check your tire pressure
Air expands and contracts as temperatures rise and fall, which means that your tire pressure will also probably also fluctuate quite a bit over the next month or so. Keep a tire pressure gauge in your glove box for easy access. Don't forget to check the pressure in your spare tire, too!

2. Add antifreeze
Like it or not, cold temperatures aren't too far away. Making sure the fluids in your vehicle won't freeze is a crucial step towards preparing for fall and the upcoming winter.

3. Replace your windshield wipers
Your wipers are about to be put to the test. Fluctuating temperatures mean thunderstorms will be more likely, and falling leaves mean that water might not be the only thing your wipers have to tackle.

4. Check your brakes
Brakes are obviously a critical aspect of vehicle safety, and now is as a good a time as any to make sure yours are in top condition.

5. Evaluate your heater and defroster
Outdoor temperatures are going to drop, but your personal body temperature shouldn't! Make sure that your heater and defroster are in good working order before it becomes an emergency.

Following these five suggestions will help you and your vehicle prepare for a safe and happy fall. If you don't feel comfortable tackling any of these on your own, the service department at Hulett is happy to help!
