HK's Golf Tournament - Benefiting Lake Regional Health System

HK's Golf Tournament is celebrating its 37th year at the Lake. The tournament originated in 1978, when forward-thinking individuals decided it was high time that the Lake of the Ozarks had its own healthcare facility. Before Lake Regional Health System came on the scene, people visiting or living at the Lake had to travel fifty or more miles to receive proper medical care. As a result, many people who suffered heart attacks, major injuries, or other serious medical emergencies did not survive.

Founder of the Lodge of the Four Seasons, Mr. Harold Koplar, was one of many people who strongly believed that the Lake of the Ozarks needed its own healthcare facility. The HK's Annual Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament (named after Mr. Koplar) was established to help provide the funding for this great undertaking. Lake Regional (originally called Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital) opened its doors in 1978, and has continued to grow, expand, and improve ever since.

Every year, the HK's Golf Tournament committee members select one specific department in the hospital to benefit. This year, the money raised from the golf tournament will benefit the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The Catheterization Lab is designed to help doctors implant pacemakers and to diagnose and treat patients suffering from heart and blood vessel disease. With the money raised at the tournament, Lake Regional will be able to purchase a new hemodynamic system that will help them monitor heart rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen usage throughout the body, internal heart rhythms, and all vital signs.

HK's Golf Tournament & Live/Silent Auctions

HK's Golf Tournament raises money through sponsors, a live and a silent auction, and the tournament itself. Our local car dealership at the Lake of the Ozarks has donated $1,000 and is proud to support such an important local event. Owner Jason Hulett also donated to the Wine Pull. This year's silent auction items include gift certificates to a wide variety of businesses and restaurants around the Lake. Live auction items include a 3-day trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a Super Bowl Package, and a beautiful Vahan Diamond Bracelet.
