Schedule Your Routine Vehicle Maintenance

Vehicles require regular maintenance to prolong the life of the engine and ride as a whole. Our Lake of the Ozarks car dealership provides vehicle service for all makes and models. Hulett Chevrolet, Buick, GMC is proud to provide high quality maintenance and service to our customers. Check out a few of the regular maintenance services we provide!

Check & Change Your Oil Regularly

This is a big one. Checking your oil and ensuring it has the proper level is imperative to how well your engine is performing. Oil keeps your engine lubricated and reduces friction on the moving components.  Get in the habit of checking on a regular basis (when you stop to fill up at the gas station). Have the oil flushed & filter changed regularly, too. Dirty oil can gum up engines and affect performance. Most vehicles recommend changing the oil every 5,000 – 7,000 miles.

Keep Tires Inflated

Engine maintenance keeps your car running well, but what about making sure it handles well? While the tire pressure should be checked regularly, it's especially important with the change of seasons. Going from warm temps to cold can affect your tire pressure, which can lead to poor handling.  If you do need to add some air, make sure not to overinflate your tires, which can be just as dangerous and hard to control as an underinflated tire. Get in the habit of checking the tread on your tires, too.  Remember- they are your only points of contact with the road, so be sure you have enough tread to hang on!

Replace Windshield Wipers

This is one that gets overlooked quite a bit. Whether it’s a rainy fall day or winter weather in the forecast, it’s a good idea to check your windshield wipers before it hits! Look at the rubber blade (where the wiper meets the window) and check for signs of wear like cracks, holes, and deterioration. Worn or damaged wipers can create streaks across your windshield, making it harder to see through. Replacing your windshield wipers is an easy and inexpensive vehicle maintenance task that can make driving in inclement weather much easier.

Check Tires for Signs of Wear

Tires typically last anywhere between 25,000 and 50,000 miles. That's a wide range so it can be tough to determine exactly when a new set of tires is needed on your vehicle. Over time, tires start to wear down and there won't be as deep of tread as there was when they were new. Once this tread wears down to about 1/16 of an inch, it's time to replace them. While you're looking at your tires, you may notice they are wearing unevenly. This means it's time to get your tires rotated or your wheels aligned. Bring your vehicle by our vehicle maintenance department in Camdenton, MO and we'll look at your tires and make a recommendation for your next steps to ensure you're safe on the road.
