Car Maintenance Tips

Image
Properly maintaining your car is key to keeping it in top condition because you depend on your vehicle a lot! Whether it’s for work, errands, or simply for play, you need to be able to get out and get going. Our vehicle service department at the Lake of the Ozarks understands how important it is to keep your vehicle running at its best. In this week’s blog, we are giving you a few routine maintenance tips to keep your ride running smoothly! 1. Change Your Oil Regularly Routinely checking and changing your car's oil is essential to keeping its engine in running condition. Oil keeps your engine lubricated and reduces friction on the moving components. Get in the habit of checking on a regular basis (when you stop to fill up at the gas station). Have the oil flushed & filter changed regularly, too. Dirty oil can gum up engines and affect performance. For best results, you should check your oil every 3,000 miles or every 3 months, whichever is sooner. You can have the best tires i...

Whether you are trading in your vehicle on a new car or just a new-to-you car, attention to detail matters. Hulett Chevrolet-Buick-GMC is here this week to help you get your car prepped and ready before you decide to make a trade! Fix the Small Issues It might seem unnecessary to get the small things fixed on your vehicle when you are just going to trade it in, but a small amount of money can make a big difference in its overall value. Check all the car’s lights, fluid levels, check for small dings and scratches, and consider getting an oil change or tire alignment. All of these things have the potential to increase the value of your vehicle and allow it to run more smoothly. Wash and Detail When trading in your car, you should a...

4 Steps To Reduce Your Blind Spot

Image
With more and more new vehicles coming equipped with blind spot detection, no one really needs to worry about reducing their blind spot… right? Wrong. Although this technology can help make the roadways a safer place to travel, it's still a good idea to be able to physically see if there is a car next to you before changing lanes. Your trusted car dealer in Mid-MO has provided some helpful steps to take in order to reduce your blind spot, helping to make the roadway a little safer for everyone. A blind spot is a point where a person’s view is obstructed. Typically used when referring to a vehicle, a blind spot is a place in which a passing car “disappears.” Blind spots can cause a number of accidents on the roadways. A driver may change lanes thinking that no other vehicle is around when in reality there is a car in their blind spot, which can cause a collision. Taking these steps to reduce a driver’s blind spot can aid in successful passing on the road. 1) Rear-Vie...
