It's officially the cold season! The days of mild weather are over, as the Lake of the Ozarks experienced our first snowfall of the season. With more snow surely on its way over the next couple of months, the team at Hulett Chevrolet-Buick-GMC wanted to share with you a few tips to keep you and your family safe. If you have to drive in winter conditions, here are a few tips you should keep in mind. Before Leaving - Never run your vehicle in an enclosed area like a garage. - The cold weather affects the pressure in your tires, so make sure they are properly inflated before leaving. - Keep the gas tank at least half full. - Buckle up every time you get into your vehicle, no matter the weather. - Check weather reports prior to leaving to know if bad weather is expected, especially if you are going to be driving in isolated areas. - Keep an emergency kit handy stocked with blankets, nonperishable foods and water.
