Preparing your Car for the Fall Weather
It’s hard to believe that October is here. Colder weather is on its way, which means the time has come to prepare your car for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. So, is your vehicle ready for those changes? Your car is negatively impacted by the cold temperatures in many ways. In this week’s blog, your Camdenton car dealership will give you a few tips to have your car prepared for the changing of the seasons.
It is important to treat the fall season as a time to prepare your car for the harsh chill that winter brings. These are just a few things to check for, so you and your car are prepared for the fall season. If your car needs additional servicing, our Camdenton Service Department is here to help! Our Certified Service Technicians are experts and can help make maintaining your vehicle simple and convenient by offering convenient hours, competitive service and parts pricing, and the most advanced technology to take the stress out of servicing your vehicle. From oil changes to tire rotations, brakes, batteries, and multi-point vehicle inspections, Hulett Chevrolet Buick GMC can handle it all.
Inspect Your Tires
Your tires are extremely important! If you think about it, they are the only part of your car that actually touches the ground! With that in mind, you can imagine how vital they are to your vehicle’s performance, and to your safety! Inspect your tires and look for anything out of the ordinary. Does the wear look even across the tread, or are there any imperfections on the tires? Uneven wear can be a sign that you may need to have your vehicle aligned, and if you notice any other issues, like chunks missing, or knots, it is probably time to look into new tires for your car, truck, or SUV.Check Vehicles Fluids
There are several fluids your car engine needs to run smoothly and perform properly. Take some time to look under the hood and check the level of each. (Remember, safety first! Some fluids need to be checked when the engine is completely cool, and some are better checked after the car has been running. Make sure to look into how to properly check your engine’s fluid levels if you feel unsure.) If any fluids do need to be topped off, now is a great time to do so. And even though we don’t want to think about frozen precipitation just yet, consider topping off your windshield wiper fluid with some de-icer.Wiper Blades
Keeping your windshield clean is important in every season, so make it a routine to inspect your wiper blades every few months. Wiper blades are inexpensive and easy to replace, so check them over now so you don’t get caught this fall with streaky or bouncing wiper blades!Wash and Wax
This is a great time to give your vehicle a good deep cleaning! Take advantage of the nice warm temperatures and give your car a good hand washing! Washing your car by hand is a great time to inspect for any issues, like scratches, dents, or rust. Catching these issues early will give you the chance to prevent them from becoming a bigger problem down the road.Change Your Oil
In preparation for all the miles you will put on your vehicle this fall (from those long drives around the lake to check out the beautiful changing scenery to holiday trips to Grandmas), now it is a good time to get your oil changed. If you bring your vehicle to Hulett Chevrolet Buick GMC, you won’t get just any oil change service. We go a step above and include a multi-point vehicle inspection, performed by our certified service technicians, to ensure you get a thorough assessment of your vehicle.
